Machine Minder / Engineer - Poultry Processing Manufacturing

Monday to Friday | Up to £52,000 per annum | Ipswich, Suffolk

Are you an experienced Machine Minder / Engineer with a background in the poultry or bird processing industry? We are looking for a hands-on individual who understands the fast paced nature of bird food production and enjoys combining engineering skills with operational responsibility.

This is a great opportunity to join a busy family run manufacturing environment where you'll play a key role in ensuring processing runs smoothly while maintaining and repairing essential manufacturing equipment.

The Role:
Working within a poultry processing facility, your responsibilities will include:

• Operating and monitoring poultry processing machinery.
• Ensuring the efficient handling and processing of birds throughout production.
• Carrying out planned and reactive maintenance on manufacturing equipment.
• Diagnosing faults and completing machine repairs to minimise downtime.
• Performing general engineering and mechanical maintenance tasks.
• Supporting continuous improvement initiatives across the production area.
• Maintaining high standards of health, safety, hygiene and food quality.

What They're Looking For:

• Previous experience within a poultry, bird processing, or similar food manufacturing environment.
• Strong mechanical engineering and fault-finding skills.
• Experience carrying out maintenance and repairs on production machinery.
• Ability to work independently and respond quickly to breakdowns.
• A practical, hands-on approach with excellent problem-solving skills.
• Understanding of food manufacturing health and safety standards.
